New monitor question

Just bought this at Sams:

(1920 x 1080)

My video card only has DVI connections. The TV has: VGA, HDMI.
I stupidly bought a VGA/DVI adapter which I'm guessing is why my screen is not crisp. Argh

Would buying a DVI -> HDMI cable provide me with a better picture?

gaahhhhhhh!

It's 720p. Not sure what I was thinking, but this sucks

I threw the box out already!
My old monitor's resolution was 1440x900 (though it's a 19" monitor).
Now I'm running 1280x720. Text is fairly clear - slightly blurry, but much better than @ 1920x1080.

Odd though, it says 1920x1080 is the recommended resolution. It's scaled right, but the text is fuzzy.

Maybe I can find someone that wants it as a TV.....

Sounds not so good, I have on good monitor that runs in 1920 x 1200 24inch, it is my precious...and my 2nd monitor max's out at 1680 x 1050 i'ts 22 inches, and is directly responsible for all sin on earth...

Was looking at getting a new/different monitor (maybe a 24" this time), but then I have this waste of $220

Not to mention we already have a 32" TV we don't watch in the other room.

Just to update, I got a 27" I-Inc off Amazon for $200ish about a month ago. 1 dead pixel down in the taskbar, but I rarely see it unless I'm looking for it.
Never use a TV as a monitor unless it's going to be 5-10ft from you.
