Monitor OSD menu keeps popping up [fixed]

In case this happens to you...

The other day, my monitor's built-in menu kept popping up and disappearing randomly (while in-game & out) - I checked my cables, restarted, etc. I checked online for a solution with no practical solutions.

In the end, I did what a few others did.. I took the casing off & cut the wires leading to the buttons (and put electrical tape over the end). Problem solved

It was the Tape that fixed it.

It sounds like a better fix than what I would have done: hit computer until messages go away.
