CPU or video card

Post by Boom »

My frame rate in TSW is a bit low.

Currently have:
Athlon64x2 4400 (2.3ghz)
GTX 260
4gb RAM

Ideally, I'd like to upgrade everything:
ASRock 970 MB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157280 - $69.99
AMD 3.6ghz (3.8 turbo) quad core - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103996 - $109.99
Radeon HD 6870 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102948 - $169.99
16gb RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231486 - $75.99
730w PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817152036 - $59.99
--------
Total: $494 with shipping

BUT... I'm cheap ;)
so I'm thinking MB/CPU first?
If that doesn't help much, upgrade the rest for christmas :P

Looks like a quality build to me, but I am way off my game now...ask Javin, he has charts and graphs.

So I ended up going with the MB, RAM & PSU above & this cpu:

The wife gave me the ok on the video card, but I'm gonna hold out til black friday or cyber monday - maybe I can find a better deal :P

But but...she said ok...but you sits? no no, this doesn't math at all!

Edit: I'm an intel man, but that looks like a good processor. Has overwhelming positive feedback.

Edit edit:Also Boom, I bought DW3 and GW2...I have too many games.
