Greetings and thank you for your interest in joining X Syndicate. I'm aware this post is kind of long, but I hope you'll read through it, as it will give you a better idea of what we're all about and what we're looking for in new members.

Note: There are questions at the bottom we would like you to answer in your request to join (just in case you don’t read the entire posting).

The History
First, a little history. X Syndicate was formed back in the City of Heroes beta by a group of friends who had been playing the FPS Elite Force together for several years. The ideas which they started out with still carry the group to this day: Friendships and not taking yourself or the game too seriously.

Three plus years later, X is still an active group, one of the oldest on the Freedom Server, and looks to be one for the foreseeable future. We have a presence in both City of Heroes and City of Villains and usually have people playing both on any given night.

About The Group Culture
The members of X enjoy grouping with each other, doing Trials, Task Forces, Strike Forces, regular missions or just hanging out in global chat or on the forums. We enjoy joking around and not taking things too seriously. After all, it's just a game.

We are mainly a PvE group. That said, we do have multiple functional bases, on both the hero and villain sides with base teleporters to help you get around. The multiple Super and Villain Groups are linked in a coalition so members have access to all bases.

Our organizational structure is loose. Every member has a say in how the group should operate. However, with our size, we do need to have officers to keep things running smoothly and ultimately make the final decision on issues while taking into account the feelings of the group. Officers in X are more like Maintenance guys than anything. We're there to fix the faucets and make sure the building looks nice. It's not about the glamour. It's about keeping the group a fun place for everyone to play.

X has several super groups on both the Hero and Villain side. We use a global chat to communicate with other members of the group while in different games and/or supergroups.

X has very few rules, really, aside from those of common sense (Be nice to each other, etc...).

The first is that we request that if you join X, you be willing to move all of your alts into our group. We have lots of room for everyone in our various alt groups. We ask this to try to avoid recruiting folks who have a different SG on each character. It's hard to get to know someone if they're always off with another SG. We're not trying to stop you from playing with friends, of course, but an individual with 8 different SGs on 8 characters isn't really something we're looking for in a member. There are exceptions made to this rule on a case by case basis, as decided by the officers of the group.

Second, we do have a Supergroup outfit on both the hero and the villain sides. If you're interested in seeing what you're getting into before you apply, contact one of our members and I'm sure they'd be happy to show you.

Third, X doesn't support powerleveling. While we're not going to kick people for occasional powerleveling, if you're looking to powerlevel nonstop you've probably found the wrong group. Requesting powerlevels over request/broadcast or asking other SG members to powerlevel you can be grounds for removal from X. It shows that you're looking for a quick way to the top as opposed to developing friendships with current members

Requesting to Join
If, somehow, after reading all of that (And if you didn't, you really should) you would still like to join our group here, the procedure is going to run something like this.

1) Register for an account on the forums here.

2) Create a new thread in the recruitment forum and answer the questions located at the end of this post for us.

3) We'll usually post something in your recruitment thread within 24 hours indicating that we'll be looking out for you in-game. As part of the recruitment process, we'll try to get a chance to team with you in-game so that we can get a better feel for your personality and so that you can get a better feel for us.

4) If all goes well, we'll extend an invite out to you

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me here, on the CoH boards (I'm Darrk Waver over there too) or send me a tell in game to @Darrk Waver.

You can also contact one of our other officers @Darrk Waver, @Doctor Dude, @Frost, @GothicRose, @Scooby Doo, or @Terminotaur.

Recruitment Questionnaire

1) Why do you want to join? Or put a different way, what are you looking for in a good SG?

2) Are you willing to move all of your alts into our SG?

3) Out of curiosity, what's your main character and their level?

4) What's you global chat handle? We need this to get in touch with you regarding your application.

5) Nachos. For or against?

6) Is there anything else you'd like us to know about you?
32 Level 50's and counting...
